ITV News reported on 9 October that the UK and its allies rallied around the International Criminal Court in response to US sanctions directed at the tribunal. The move signals a clear split between Washington and its traditional partners over the tribunal's legitimacy.

The decision by allied governments to publicly back the ICC came shortly after the US imposed sanctions against the body. Observers say that the divide may put pressure on longstanding diplomatic relationships between Washington and its allies.

Separately, King Charles covered the restoration costs for Prince Andrew. The arrangement prompted comment given the unresolved issues surrounding the prince's position within the royal family.

The PSNI also sent a letter to Northern Ireland First Minister Michelle O'Neill in connection with a Garvaghy Road protest tied to the long-running Drumcree dispute. The letter opens the door to a formal police interview, introducing another layer of complexity to a dispute that has remained unresolved for years.
