A 22-year-old passenger died on Loop 1604 in San Antonio after a driver accused of DWI struck a pillar. San Antonio police responded to the North Side collision and found the driver showing signs of intoxication.

In a separate incident, an employee at a BBQ restaurant was knifed in the arm and chest in what police described as a random attack just outside the business. The employee is recovering after the attack.
